Letter from Alexandertal -- 1913

(First part of letter is missing)

Your last two letters did not say you had received my last letter, and according to the time which has passed, you should have received it by this time.

Mama went to Liebau with a friend.

As I understand it, Marcia and Fritz Yakel have just returned from America and I don’t know yet where they will live. I heard they want to go to Mueller first to see his parents.

Mama and I are home alone. The others are all out working in the field.

Mama says she liked the way you, Katia, looked better when you were here than you do in the picture you sent.

Juliana Meyer has a portrait of you. When we received your letter I really didn’t want to give it to her, but she said "she was my friend and I want it" and then I gave it to her.

Uncle Gottfried and Ange are hurt. Ange said she gave you some good pumpkin beerocks and you haven’t yet sent her a ribbon, but you did send to your nieces.

Regards,

From your Father and Mother, Heinrich Keller
